dc.description.abstract | The study intended to apply interior paint finishes with splatter painting on gypsum for residential walls and false ceiling designs. The following objectives guided the study: To identify different local materials with varying paint finishes that can be sampled, to test for suitability, and durability for paint finishes with splatter painting on gypsum material and Production of different paint finishes with splatter painting on gypsum for walls and false ceiling designs to show aesthetic appeal and creativity. Interior paint finishes have been done in many residential buildings of Entebbe and the researcher found out that paint application on the walls and ceilings of the buildings were more of a flat finish where paint was applied with the use of a roller and painting brushes which limited the creativity and aesthetic appeal. The researcher focused on how best aesthetic appeal and creativity would be achieved on the walls and ceiling designs of residential buildings with the application of paint finishes with splatter painting on gypsum material and a number of research designs to mention comparative and experimental approaches were used, data methods and tools with a number of collected local materials with varying paint finishes sampled and testing of suitability, durability of paint finishes with splatter painting on gypsum were tested and later the production of different paint finishes with splatter on gypsum were produced for wall and false ceiling designs showing aesthetic appeal and creativity and presented in form of plates. However, the researcher recommended that interior paint finishes of splatter on gypsum should be applied with the aim of showing creativity and aesthetic appeal following surface preparation to create suitability and durability in residential building walls and false ceiling designs. | en_US |
