Abstract: | The study examined the role of the role of revenue Collection on service delivery in Kampala Capital City Authority. The study mainly focused on the following objectives: to examine the how KCCA has provided budget support to ensure proper drainage system in Kampala city, to establish how KCCA has sensitized the community on tax compliance to ensure better heath in Kampala city and to examine how KCCA has supervised receipt of revenue to ensure provision of clean/safe water in Kampala city The study employed a cross sectional survey research design and used a population of 214 with a sample size of 139 respondents. The sampling methods used were; simple random and purposive techniques in selection of respondents. The study used both primary and secondary data collection methods. In collection of primary data, the questionnaire instrument. Secondary data were collected by reviewing of documents in line with revenue management. The data collected was analyzed using SPSS version 20 and presented in tables with frequencies and percentages. The findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between revenue Collection and Service delivery in KCCA indicated by a correlation coefficient of r= 0. 677. The study recommends that KCCA should sensitize the public about proper garbage disposal to avoid blockages drainage systems, allocate budget votes for specific drainage channel in the city especially the loaded ones running round the highly populated areas and spend substantial amount of local revenue collected on drainage opening and monitoring so that the city is kept clean. |
