Abstract: | The purpose of this study was to examine the theoretical and practical considerations surrounding community service in Uganda. The examination used a document analysis approach in a bid to assess the community service approach and its prospects in Uganda. The study reveals the significance of inter-departmental changes in terms of the community and community-oriented goals as well as the role of inter-agency collaboration. The Threatening consequences to community service were equally addressed within the context of the Kampala metropolitan free zone. The study recommends setting out a plan for the Kampala metropolitan area's expected growth from about 3 million to more than 5 million by the year 2015 since major concerns of civil mayhem have to be prioritized just like public safety issues on how to lessen them by using community service principles. |
