The study examined the contribution of employee welfare and organizational performance of Ugandan financial institutions. A case study of EcoBank Uganda, Kampala and this is because it is well known of its exceptional banking services. The study was adopted the functional theory advanced by Varma (2017) to examine how employee welfare impacts organizational performance. The objective aimed to examine the relationship between; Economic welfare and quality of services, Recreational welfare and customer satisfaction and Facilitative welfare and timely deliveries at EcoBank Uganda, Kampala. An analytical cross-sectional survey research design was employed to collect both quantitative and qualitative data from a sample size of 60 respondents based on sloven’s formula which included both management and staff. Self-administered questionnaires, interview guide and documentary review checklist were the main data collection instrument. The study findings revealed that organizational performance at EcoBank Uganda is partially explained by employee welfare in respect of economic, recreational and facilitative welfare. Economic welfare improves the quality of services (Beta=0.337), recreational welfare increases customer satisfaction (Beta=0.280) and facilitative welfare attracts timely deliveries (beta=0.854) at EcoBank Uganda, Kampala. In conclusion, it emerged that employee welfare significantly associated with organizational performance at EcoBank Uganda contributing to 54% while other factors contributed the remaining 48% (e.g availability of resources). The study recommends that EcoBank Uganda should review its employee welfare policy and procedure, there should be an extensive search using questionnaire on what best can be done to staff to improve their welfare and bank’s performance and last, the bank’s performance should be monitored regularly to assess welfare and improve performance. The study also came up with areas for further research which included: employee welfare and organizational performance in government financial institutions, economic welfare policy and quality of services in public sectors and lastly HR policy and employee work-life.

The focus of the study was to establish effects of Work Environment on employee performance in private sector using Mukwano group of Companies as a case study. The study was guided by the following objectives; to find out the impact of physical environment on employee performance, to assess the impact of psychological environment on employee performance and to find out the impact of employee work relations on employee performance in Mukwano group of companies. Literature was reviewed based on the study objectives. The researcher adopted across sectional survey research design, where both purposive and simple random sampling techniques were used and 70 respondents were sampled from the target population of 85 respondents. Data was collected using questionnaires and interview and data was analyzed inform of percentages and frequencies. The findings revealed that the majority of respondents generally agreed that many of the employees of Mukwano group of companies are insured against accidents at place of work, office layout and work spaces are good, employees benefit from Mukwano group of companies’ health and safety policy, workplace provides undisturbed and noise free environment. However most of respondents generally disagreed that the company has a First Aid kit readily available in all sectors of the company, the majority of respondents also disagreed that the company provides all employees with protective gears suited for operation. The study also revealed that employees have no control over work schedules, the process of requesting and obtaining “leave off duty” was clear and easy, it’s easy for employees to balance work schedules with family-life responsibilities, employees sacrifice personal life commitments to fulfill work demands and work didn’t interfere with time for family and friends which creates a favorable psychological working environment. The study findings further revealed that there is effective communication between employers and employees, there is supervision support to lower staff, there is employees’ line available for professional advice about work, the employees are satisfied with the support and advice, employees had a spirit of friendliness with other staffs at work, the superiors at Mukwano group of companies are dependable, there is teamwork among employees when the task at hand is challenging, Mukwano group of companies always holds annual staff party, senior management gave staff a clear picture of the direction in which the organization is heading to motivate employees to work and the management involved staff in decision making which improved employee performance. The study concluded that; physical environment has an impact on employee’s performance, which is both positively and negatively, the psychological environment had an impact on employee’s performance, there is effective communication, teamwork among employees, supervision support to lower staff, annual staff party are held, superiors are dependable, spirit of friendliness with other staff at work, employees are satisfied with the support and advice and the management involved staff in decision making which improved employee work relations and employee performance at Mukwano group of companies. The study recommended that; The organization should give employees feedback which is effective regarding their performance, the organization should give employees with job aids or guidance by the help of their supervisors which could be through training and this helps in improving the skills of employees to execute their tasks leading to high levels of performance

The study examined the role of computerized accounting systems on
performance of logistics companies in South Sudan, a case study of PG3
Logistics in Juba. The study focused on three specific objectives: To examine
how computerized accounting systems have ensured production of timely
reports in PG3 Logistics; To examine how computerized accounting system has ensured accurate information management in PG3 Logistics; and to assess how computerized accounting systems have ensured safety and security of records in PG3 Logistics
The study used a target population of 92 PG3 Logistics staff and customers. Asample of 88 respondents was selected using Neumann's formula (2000). A
descriptive research design was employed and both quantitative and
qualitative approaches of data collection were used. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics where the statistics proved that r =0.802; significance level was found and the hypothesis testing proved that there is a strong and positive relationship between computerized accounting systems and performance of PG3 Logistics. It was discovered that, production of timely reports (r=0.889, P<0.005), accurate information management (r=0.891, P<0.005); safety and security of records (r=890, <0.005); this indicates that Computerized Accounting Systems affect performance in PG3 Logistics.
The study recommends that Logistics companies should consider coming with a clear computerized accounting systems policy which creates a universal platform for all logistics companies. This should enhance fair market competition. The study also recommends that the logistics companies should consider intensifying the computerized accounting systems which will ensure services accessibility by customers and thus improving performance. Lastly, the study recommends that Logistics companies to enhance and deploy more resources for use in the computerized accounting systems to reduce administration cost, operation costs and increase income and improve asset quality, and performance. Logistics operations through computerized accounting systems should emerge as a strategic resource for achieving higher efficiency, control of operations and reduction of cost by replacing paper based and labor-intensive methods with automated processes thus leading to higher productivity and profitability.

The study was about the working environment and employee performance in Local Governments of Uganda, a Case of Luwero Municipal Council. The study was based on three objectives: (i) to examine the effects of social work environment on employee performance of Luwero Municipal Council, (ii) to examine the effect of flexible work environment on employees’ performance of Luwero Municipal Council, (iii) to determine whether physical work environment has an influence on employees’ performance at Luwero Municipal Council. The study design comprised of a combination of both descriptive research designs and employing both qualitative and quantitative approaches. A sample size of 112 although 97 was the actual response rate used. Data was collected using self administer questionnaires, interviews, and a review of related literature. Results of findings from the field revealed that 32(88.9%) were in agreement that Perceived social support from co-workers enhances their job performance. However, the 1(2.8%) respondents who disagreed and 3(8.3%) were neutral. Basing on findings, the majority 34(94.4%) agreed that their organization provides opportunities and support for handling personal problem. From the field findings, 60(61.8%) were in agreement that there is good relationship between employees and the organization. However, 10(10.3%) were not sure and 27(27.8%) of the respondents were in disagreement. Basing on findings, the majority 58(59.8%) were in agreement that every person has different reason for working. However, 13(13.4%) were not sure and 26(26.8%) of the respondents were in disagreement. Findings revealed that 57(58.7%) were in agreement that the workspace is conducive and provides sufficient space for employees to perform. Though 16(16.5%) were neutral and 24(24.7%) of the respondents were in disagreement from the findings, the study concluded that a flexible and supportive work environment plays a vital role in influencing employee performance and satisfaction at Luwero Municipal Council. Fostering positive relationships, providing work-life balance support, and encouraging teamwork, the organization can create a work environment that promotes employee well-being and commitment. The study recommends that Luwero Municipal Council management should ensure that the work environment for staff is reasonable for them to be able to concentrate and achieve the desired objectives
