dc.description.abstract The study determined the effect of supply chain risk management on performance of Health supply chain Agencies in Uganda, with a view of National Medical Stores (NMS) in Entebbe. This study was intended to achieve three specific objectives. The first objective was to examine the effect of risk identification on the performance of NMS. The second objective was to investigate the effect of risk monitoring on the performance of NMS and the last objective was to analyse the extent to which risk analysis affect the performance of NMS. The study was a case study design intended to determine how supply chain risk management affects performance of NMS. A total of 320 respondents, all NMS staff in Entebbe of different levels participated in the study. The study findings show a significant positive effect of supply chain risk management in form of risk identification, risk monitoring and risk analysis on performance of NMS. The correlation results revealed positive significant effects of risk identification, risk monitoring and risk analysis on performance of NMS. The study concluded that risk identification helps an organization to discover the root cause of the risk and also to understand that risk identification should be everyone’s responsibility not just top management. Risk monitoring was concluded to have a positive effect on the performance of NMS. The study therefore recommended that Health supply chain agencies especially NMS should identify and assess different types of risks more accurately because once a risk is identified on a high level, further internal data can be analyzed to figure out where the source of the risk is; should prioritize supply chain risk management through effective risk monitoring as it is very critical to the performance of these agencies, ensure there is participation of the entire project team in risk monitoring and that these agencies should enrich and empower their risk management committees, and audit function since these are very instrumental in the supply chain. Further studies should be conducted on how supply chain risk management affects performance for Health supply chain agencies operating in other regions with different environmental conditions, other than Uganda en_US
