dc.description.abstract This study examined the contribution of stakeholders’ communication in the development of cultural institutions in Uganda: a case study Buganda Kingdom. The thrust of the study hinged on the investigation of three major issues: stakeholders’ communication and the political development of Buganda Kingdom; stakeholders’ communication and the economic development of Buganda Kingdom, and stakeholders’ communication and the social development of Buganda Kingdom. The study employed a descriptive cross- sectional research design, with both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The study used 385 respondents, selected using random and purposive sampling techniques who included: Buganda cabinet ministers, Ministers from the diaspora, Ssaza chiefs, (County chiefs) Ggombolola chiefs,(Sub county chiefs) Miruka chiefs, (Village chiefs), Kingdom subjects (Bakopi) and special interest groups within Buganda Kingdom. The study discovered that, stakeholders’ communication has influenced the development of Buganda Kingdom. The study recommended that, Buganda Kingdom government through its’ ministries to put in place proper and clear communication channels on the political situation of the kingdom for all stakeholders in Buganda Kingdom to follow and be in a know right from top to bottom leadership for the betterment of political development in the Kingdom. Second, Buganda Kingdom, through the Buganda Kingdom Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development should closely work with the Department of information to ensure that all the economic programmes of the Kingdom are well understood by all stakeholders in the Kingdom so as they can utilise them for economic development in Buganda Kingdom, lastly, Buganda Kingdom, through her Ministry of Culture, Heritage, and Tourism, should put in place clear and accessible channels of communication for all stakeholders in the Kingdom in order to access information progress of cultural activities of the Kingdom to promote effective social development of Buganda Kingdom. en_US
